Utility calculators

A decision map for age, dates, hours, grades, GPA, subnets, and general conversion. Start with three steps, then open a lane. The full index sits at the bottom.

8 tools · client-side · educational utilities, not official records or network design sign-off.

Three everyday utility jobs. One primary calculator each.

  1. 01

    Get exact age

Forms and benefits often need years, months, and days, not a birthday guess. Compute the span from birth date to today (or another end date).

  2. 02

    Do the date math

Deadlines, leases, and project ends need add/subtract days or the gap between two dates. Run the calendar math before you commit a schedule.

  3. 03

    Total the hours

Shifts and timesheets mix start/end clocks with breaks. Convert duration to decimal or HMS so payroll and invoices match.

Age needs an end date

Age as of today differs from age as of a filing deadline. Set the end date explicitly when forms ask for age on a past or future day.

Age

Calendar days are not business days

Adding 10 days can land on a weekend. Use the date tool for calendar math, then adjust if your policy skips non-workdays.

Date

HMS and decimal hours differ

1:30 is 1.5 hours, not 1.30. Convert before you paste into payroll sheets that expect decimals.

Hours

Subnet size is power-of-two

Host counts jump in powers of two. A /24 is not half of a /23 in the way people casually guess. Use the subnet tool for mask and range.
