Site owner and editor of How To Calculate. I write and maintain calculators, guides, hub copy, and trust pages. There is no anonymous editorial board behind the byline.

Tools that explain assumptions and show worked examples, not just a final number. Especially useful on YMYL topics (money and health) where a silent default can mislead.

How I edit pages

The short personal version of the editorial standards. When I ship or refresh a page, I ask four questions:

   Is the formula the right model?

   Prefer standard formulas from textbooks, standards bodies, and primary public agencies when the domain has them.

   Are assumptions visible?

   Units, timing, compounding, rounding, fees, and taxes get named when they move the result.

3. 03

   Does a worked example survive a sanity check?

   Verified twins and trap notes catch unit errors and silent defaults before they reach a reader.

4. 04

   Does the page say what the number is not?

   Especially on money and health pages: educational sketch, not personalized advice.
