What your result means (before you calculate)

Concrete volume = length × width × thickness (same units). Slabs use depth in feet or meters; bags quote yield per bag on the label—add 5–10% waste.

Worked example (slab)

Pad 12 ft × 10 ft × 4 in thick → volume = 12×10×(4/12) = 40 ft³1.48 m³. At 10% waste, order ~1.63 m³ or equivalent bags.
